Coates Tenison Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009 A
light-bodied, easy drinking style of Pinot Noir that suits food. No heroics,
extract and new oak; an interesting entry level Pinot to put on the table at
lunch. Price – $25 Production – 240 cases made. Alcohol – 13.5% Winemaking – Pinot Noir
sourced from the Tenison vineyard in Robe. Half wild yeast fermented, half
cultured yeast over a two and a half week ferment time on skins. Plenty of
whole berry inclusion to impart some carbonic lift to the nose. Maturation in
1-4 year old French oak barriques (Dargaud & Jaegle, Seguin-Moreau
coopered) on fine lees for 11 months. Bottled in April 2010. |
