Coates Tenison Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009

A light-bodied, easy drinking style of Pinot Noir that suits food. No heroics, extract and new oak; an interesting entry level Pinot to put on the table at lunch.

Price – $25

Production – 240 cases made.

Alcohol – 13.5%

Winemaking – Pinot Noir sourced from the Tenison vineyard in Robe. Half wild yeast fermented, half cultured yeast over a two and a half week ferment time on skins. Plenty of whole berry inclusion to impart some carbonic lift to the nose. Maturation in 1-4 year old French oak barriques (Dargaud & Jaegle, Seguin-Moreau coopered) on fine lees for 11 months. Bottled in April 2010.
