The Wines
Barrel Fermented Robe Pinot Noir Rose Rose, complexity
and texture and not often muttered in the same sentence. A reserve style of
Rose made to accompany food, or simply to contemplate on its own. Price – $20 Production – 200 cases made. Alcohol – 13.0% Winemaking – Pinot Noir sourced from the
Tenison vineyard in Robe (not far from Coonawarra, but with 4°C cooler
average in March). After 24 hrs skin contact the Pinot was bag pressed then
cold settled. Wild yeast fermentation was preformed in seasoned French oak
barriques (Dargaud & Jaegle coopered), then left sue lie without
battonage. Partial malolactic proceeded before bottling after five months
spent in barrels. The Pinot Noir Rose has about 4 grams residual sugar,
bottled in October 2010. Released October 2010. Tasting Notes An inviting nose of fresh cherry and perfumed red
berry characters is given a hint of savoury underpinning from fermentation
and maturation for five months in French oak barriques. |
