Consonance Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2010 Good Price – $25 Production – 260 cases made. Alcohol – 13.5% Winemaking - 63%
Semillon fruit sourced from Mt Compass (close to McLaren Vale but very cool
and higher in altitude, approx 350m). The balance (37%) is Adelaide Hills
Sauvignon Blanc. Semillon was wild yeast fermented in French
oak barriques, 25% new (Remond, Nadalie Marsannay and Dargaud & Jaegle
coopered), then aged on lees without sulphur for six months. The Savvy was
handled in a more Tasting Notes Light straw in colour, the nose shows restrained
tropical fruits accompanied by lemongrass and a hint of brioche. A lithe
palate with plenty of citrus zing with guave and subtle toast notes leading
into a long, crisp finish. |
