The Reserve Syrah is a selection of parcels from exceptional vintage conditions. Vintage 2008 was the first time The Reserve Syrah has been made; this has been followed by The Reserve Syrah 2012, The Reserve Syrah 2016 and then The Reserve Syrah 2018.

Winemaking – Syrah sourced from Willunga dark soils was hand picked then fermented on skins for four to eight weeks in open fermenters with the use of natural yeasts to enhance flavour complexity. Malolactic fermentation and maturation in a combination of new and one year old French oak allows the wine to develop roundness and soften over 24 months. New French oak from Dargaud & Jaegle and the Nadalie Marsannay cooperages are employed. Two oak selection passes were performed to leave the final handful of barrels destined for The Reserve Syrah. Bottled unfined and unfiltered in December 2019.
