Winemaking – Pinot Noir grapes were grown at Kuitpo (Adelaide Hills). The grapes were gently pressed then cold settled with minimal skin contact. Natural yeast fermentation was preformed in seasoned French oak barriques (Dargaud & Jaegle coopered), then left sur lie. Partial malolactic proceeded before bottling after nine months spent in barrels. The Rose has about 1.5 grams per litre of residual sugar, bottled in November 2016.
Pale salmon pink in colour. An inviting nose of fresh cherry and perfumed red berry characters is given a hint of savoury underpinning by subtle cedar notes. The palate opens with lovely strawberry and melon characters; the lingering finish is counterpoised by subtle fruit sweetness and a cleansing acidity.
